One More Bite

The WacoFork Blog

Young Chefs Academy is now offering classes at its Waco headquarters, beginning with summer camp. The “Camp-Can-I-Cook” sessions begin on June 6 and run through July 28. Summer camp is available for children ages 6-12. This is the first time that the corporate headquarters has offered courses for local children at its newly renovated facility. Registration details can be found here.

Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers has broken ground on its third Waco-area restaurant, and its first within walking distance of the Baylor University campus.

Stephen and I had the privilege today of trying out the newest entrant into the Waco seafood scene, The Catch. This fast-casual restaurant offers cajun-style seafood is in the former location of Rowdy Taco in the same shopping center as Smashburger and Mama Fu's.

On Tuesday afternoon, I suggested to a friend that we meet up at The Elite Cafe for happy hour as I remembered they had good deals last time I was in there.

Little did I know the restaurant was in its last days.

I noticed yesterday that the Texas Food Truck Showdown released its truck lineup for this year's event, which will be held April 2.

We'll obviously roll out more articles on this as the event gets closer, but just wanted to share the list of food trucks with you today. Here's the link.

Alas, it seems our humble burg has once again taken two steps forward and one step back.

It's my sad duty to report that, having visited the mall today to purchase a new belt, I discovered that Hot Topic is gone. For the record, I was not going to Hot Topic to get said belt. But still, where am I going to find a Flogging Molly T-shirt now?

I know what you're thinking. It's about time we updated our old, tired-looking website. This has been in the works for some time now, but as Chad mentioned recently, we've been in a pretty busy season the past few months.  But enough with the excuses. Let's talk about the new design!

Zoes Kitchen is here

Zoës Kitchen is open.

I'm tempted to leave this blog at that, one line and roll.

Waco area residents and WacoFork visitors have been asking for Indian cuisine, and soon they will have just the place to make a new healthy habit.
I got wind this week of a new trailer coming to the University Parks and Franklin riverside truck/trailer lot, I simply had to follow up.

The Tandoori Trailer is not yet open, but I was able to meet the owners and have a little chat tonight about their cuisine, their goals, and the motivation to bring the Tandoori Trailer to Waco. India is a country rich with culture and family traditions, one of the most cherished being the family recipes and knowledge.

We're back in the kitchen

Your regularly scheduled WacoFork updates could be returning soon.

Since I’m the one writing this blog, I’m going to go ahead and sort of confess in a way that’s going to sound like a humblebrag. I acknowledge all of this along with the fact that I have dropped the WacoFork blogging ball in the last couple of months.
