Alas, it seems our humble burg has once again taken two steps forward and one step back.
It's my sad duty to report that, having visited the mall today to purchase a new belt, I discovered that Hot Topic is gone. For the record, I was not going to Hot Topic to get said belt. But still, where am I going to find a Flogging Molly T-shirt now?
Also, I noticed a new restaurant as Mandarin Express has taken over the space where there used to be a Wendy's.
How long until Half-time?
The space formerly occupied by Treff's and Kuma will soon open its doors as a sports bar called Half-time.
I don't have any hard info on this, except that the sign is up and the interior looks like it's well on its way to being ready for business. More info as I find it.
The next big thing
Waco Trib reporter J.B. Smith wrote an article that appeared on Tuesday and detailed long-range plans for a Chisholm Landing development just to the east of McLane Stadium. The plans inlcude apartments and hotel rooms overlooking the Brazos River.
Obviously this will mean restaurant opportunities as well. So that's something for us to continue to follow.
