Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers has broken ground on its third Waco-area restaurant, and its first within walking distance of the Baylor University campus.
The company recently began construction on its newest location, on the west side of I-35, between 8th and 9th Streets. It is scheduled to open in early September. When the 2,700-square-foot restaurant opens, it will be the 97th Raising Cane’s in the Lone Star State and among more than 275 nationwide. The company will be hiring 50-60 new crewmembers for the restaurant in the months ahead.
“We’re very excited to be expanding further here, deep in the heart of Texas, where the Caniac population has been growing by leaps and bounds,” said Area Director Mark Strouse. “The Baylor community has been clamoring for a Cane’s closer to them, so we’re looking forward to welcoming them to their very own restaurant soon after they return for the fall, and just in time for football season!”
