The 12 Days of Christmas Trivia: Day 7

December 15, 2014 | Melissa Rowland Whisnant | Promotions | Comment

Congratulations to Sarah Picken, who won The 12 Days of Christmas Trivia Day 5 by solving our before-and-after puzzle.

We're going to try another one today. This is a before-and-after question requiring two responses that combine to form the correct answer. Here’s an example:

Tomorrow is the Grand Opening of Homestead Market which will be open Monday-Saturday from 10am to 6pm. It might not be a Whole Foods, but it promises to be a fun alternative!

Homestead Market will carry locally grown/sourced milk, eggs, flour, grass-fed beef, ice cream, poultry products, tea, baked goods, and produce. Also available are organic and all-natural brands such as Organic Valley, Fresh Point, Shelton's, Lundberg, Cascadian Farms, Alden's, Bob's Red Mill, and Wheat Montana.

This is not a restaurant review. It's not an advertisement either. Nor is it a news item. This is just me, Chad, telling you, WacoFork friends, that Manny's on the River just might be a game-changer here in our humble burg.

I began to see this coming when I did a little Manny's Uptown Tex-Mex research last week and spoke with the Manny's folks at the MLK location. Having dined there this week with photog Chelsea Santos, I'm pretty much sold on it.

We're going to branch out from carols and add some Christmas movie trivia!

This is a before-and-after question requiring two responses that combine to form the correct answer. Here’s an example:

Congrats to Kristen Perez, the Day 3 winner of the 12 Days of Christmas Carol Trivia. she correctly answered Santa Claus is Coming to Town by The Reverend Horton Heat.

We're hitting it hard this year with 12 straight (week) days of Christmas Carol Trivia. Today's prize is $10 to Portofino.

Congrats to Cameron Talley, the Day 2 winner of the 12 Days of Christmas Carol Trivia. he correctly answered Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by Judy Garland.

We're hitting it hard this year with 12 straight (week) days of Christmas Carol Trivia. Today's prize is $10 to Amelia's on the Avenue (at Sironia).

We've been given the heads up that Fuego Tortilla Grill is scheduled to open its Woodway location right at the start of 2015.

Fuego, which will eventually have locations in Woodway across Highway 84 from H-E-B AND near Baylor on the east side of Interstate-35, features street tacos and all that implies.

Congrats to Austin Hooper, the Day 1 winner of the 12 Days of Christmas Carol Trivia. He correctly answered Joy to the World by Earth, Wind and Fire.

We're hitting it hard this year with 12 straight (week) days of Christmas Carol Trivia. Today's prize is $10 to Captain Billy Whizzbang's

This diminutive actress, whose résumé includes riding a tornado and recording with Barbara Streisand, seems like the perfect person to wish us one of these.

Your favorite time of year has arrived once again, WacoFork friends. It's that time when I contrive trivia questions based on Christmas Carol performed by various and (hopefully) increasingly random artists.

We're going to hit it hard this year with 12 straight (week) days of Christmas Carol Trivia (Lord willing and the creek don't rise). We're also thinking of mixing in a slightly new format as Melissa might bring us questions based on mash-ups of movie title from Christmas movies and non-Christmas films, i.e. an answer might be "The Importance of Being Ernest Saves Christmas."

Yes, the ice rink is synthetic, but the 2nd Annual Waco Wonderland promised to be a real good time. Go here for full schedule of events. Waco Wonderland is located in downtown at Heritage Square and along Austin Avenue from City Hall to 8th Street. The festival is free, but skating tickets are $5 and ferris wheel rides are $3.

CHRISMAS TREE LIGHTING & FIREWORDS TONIGHT: Stop by at 6pm before the Baylor game. Santa will also be around for the kiddies to visit.
