We've reached the final day of Christmas Carol trivia questions. Congratulations to everyone who has won thus far, including Toph Whisnant, who won for the second time by providing Monday's correct answer: "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby.
If you're reading this blog, you should attempt to answer today's trivia question, whether you think you have a good answer or not, whether you think it's in time to win or not. Because all of the guesses go into the hat and we will draw tomorrow for a $50 gift card to the restaurant of the winner's choice.
Ok, here we go with the last two days of the 12 Days of Chirstmas Carol trivia game.
Congratulations to Kristen Fisher, our first multiple-prize winner. She correctly gave the answer Paul McCartney singing "Wonderful Christmastime."
We're up to double digits in the 12 Days of Christmas Carols trivia extravaganza (I don't know if it qualifies as an extravaganza, but let's just go with that). We will take the weekend off and come back with the last two days and the special end-of-contest drawing next week.
Congratulations to Joel Williams, who knew right away that we were looking for Winter Wonderland as performed by Jason Mraz on Thursday.
Just in time for the holidays, Honeybaked Express has opened in Central Texas Marketplace.
Driving to my favorite morning bagel-and-coffee location, I noticed the sign for the first time and immediately wondered if this was the reincarnation of the Honeybaked Ham store that formerly operated from the Valley Mills Drive shopping center anchored by Fuddruckers and Carino's. While manager Chirsty Ortiz said she worked for many years at Honeybaked Ham, Honeybaked Express is a new store with its base and ownership in Fort Worth.
It's pretty cool that so far in eight days of Christmas Carol trivia, we've sent prizes out to eight different winners. We're not opposed to multiple-day winners, but it's nice to have a variety, you know?
Congratulations to Jason Hobbs, who correctly gave the answer "Willie Nelson singing O Little Town of Bethlehem" on Wednesday.
I hope everyone is having fun with Christmas Carol trivia. I'm having fun trying to stump y'all, so I took the fact that it took more than an hour to get a winning answer on Tuesday as a credit to my trivia question cleverness.
Now that I've congratulated myself, I'd like to also offer congratulations to Jackie Laningham, who correctly answered Wilson Phillips singing Sleigh Ride on Tuesday.
Congratulations to Sean DelBaccaro who came up with Monday's Christmas Carol trivia correct answer, which was Merry Christmas From The Family by Robert Earl Keen. That's one of my favorite non-traditional Christmas songs, along with Run DMC's Christmas in Hollis.
The past couple of days, the trivia question was kind of specific. You probably knew the answer right away or had no clue. There really wasn't much room for guessing wrong because the song was just too unique. But today I think I'm going way more vague because I like a little more competition.
We're back for another week of the 12 Days of Christmas Carols as we still have a stocking full of gift cards to give away. It's Day 6 and this will continue until next Tuesday, so there are still a bunch of chances to win.
Congratulations to Kristen Fisher, who was the first to correctly give the answer Christmas in Hollis by Run DMC on Friday.
I think Thursday's Christmas Carol trivia question might have been the most clever one I've thrown out there yet. You see, the hint "would the shepherds have understood where to go?" was meant to lead you to Bob Dylan. (Disclaimer: I can usually understand the words Dylan sings. I can't always ascertain the meaning. Can anyone tell me what is meant by "20 pounds of headlines, stapled to his chest?). And the hint "this original Christmas carol" was supposed to indicate The First Noel, emphasis on "first."
We didn't have as many attempts on Thursday, so it must have been trickier. Congratulations to Franci Rogers for getting to the bottom of it.
So this whole Christmas carol trivia has been a bigger hit than I anticipated. The competition has been fierce with the winner claiming their prize within just a few minutes of the question being posted each day. Way to go, WacoFork friends. And congrats to Hannah Abernathy, who won on Wednesday by being the quickest on the draw with the correct answer: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer as performed by Jack Johnson. Interestingly, we had a few people answer Banana Pancakes by Jack Johnson. Do some folks consider that a Christmas carol?
Today's prize is a $10 gift card to Quaker Steak & Lube. Here's the question:
