WacoFork folks: Brett and Emily Mills' restaurant playlist

Ever wonder what this blog is about? Is it a food blog? Is it restaurant news? What is he trying to do? Well, let me clarify.

I reserve the right to write about anything in this blog that relates in any way to dining out in Waco, and that includes writing about people whom I enjoy bumping into whenever I'm out and about.

Two of the people at the top of that list — actually, up to five people — are Brett and Emily Mills and family. Along with being friendly and fun, Brett and Emily combine their wealth of musical talent with an enterprising and unapologetic approach to Christian ministry.

It just so happens that Brett and Emily released  their new album called "Never Too Far" today. I'm listening to a track called "Round The Mountain" right now as I write this blog and it is stirring and soulful and reassuring. Check it out at brettandemilymills.com and buy it on iTunes.

So, as stated, I'll serendipitously bump into the Mills at Rosa's or Jimmy John's or wherever from time to time. I've even been known to dine with them on purpose. Because I know they're loyal to Waco, I asked them to share their favorite places in town. Kind of a Waco restaurant playlist if you will.

Here it is:

1. El Charro Tapatio — Best queso in town. Street tacos and breakfast are fab.

2. Oso's Oh So Good Yogurt — Excellent after school hangout. Definitely the coolest froyo in town.

3. Tony Demaria's — Best BBQ + great ambiance.

4. Baris — Just a fan of the pizza and pretty much everything. Great prices too. Waco food royalty for sure.

5. D's Mediterranean Grill — Chicken tenders or Mediterranean food. We LOVE it. They're consistent.

Oh man, I just clicked on the first track of "Never Too Far." What a treat. Seriously. Go get it. Or better yet, Brett and Emily will be playing music at Common Grounds at 8 tonight in an event for their ministry Jesus Said Love. Check that out too.
