Mama Fu's is open!
It's the first in a series of restaurant opening which will take place during the next few months in the Aldi shopping center on Valley Mills Drive. Smashburger will be next, probably in September
Cory and Carly and I had lunch there today. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, but the food stole the show. I enjoyed Thai Basil with beef. The menu and staff warned me that it would be spicy. Indeed it was satisfyingly spicy, but not overwhelmingly so.
When I got back to the office (Starbucks) after lunch, my friend Will asked me about it as he hadn't heard of it yet. I described it as Asian-fusion, casual dining. Probably better than Pei Wei. Here are four more things you need to know:
- It's order-at-the-counter at lunch and table service at dinner.
- They serve beer and wine.
- You choose a dish and choose the meat or veggie option you want in it.
- Mama Fu's delivers. The online ordering system isn't operational yet, but you can call in an order and they travel to the entire Waco area, including Hewitt and Woodway.
