Would you like to know when the new sushi and Korean food restaurant in Central Texas Marketplace is going to open? So would owner Hong Park.
I spoke with Park on Monday morning as he worked in his kitchen. He's waiting on inspectors to give him the green light to open for business, but he doesn't know when they're going to get around to him. He has finished the new restaurant right down to most of the final details and said he hopes to open by the end of the month, but he couldn't say for certain.
When the time comes, it seems to me that Wako Roll is going to make a nice addition to the dining options in Central Texas Marketplace. Park, who also owns Teriyaki Park, has done a nice job with the space formerly occupied by Camille's Sidewalk Cafe.
Like Teriyaki Park, Wako Roll is casual and comfortable with a few authentic Korean accents.
In case you're keeping score, this I believe makes six sushi options in Waco — Teriyaki Park, Diamond Backs, Samurai Steakhouse, Tokyo, Fuji and now Wako Roll.
By the way, Samurai Steakhouse, as of this writing, has never been reviewed. That's a challenge, folks.
