A Waco-native artist we dig: Brian Patterson

Waco native Brian Patterson has a new EP, "A Short Century," out there for your listening pleasure. We really dig it and we couldn't be happier for our buddy.

Do yourself a favor and go here or here and buy it. It's the best $5 you'll spend today.

And then do yourself another favor and come out to True Love on Saturday night and here Brian and Cellar Door and something called Zombie Western (I think).

Because he's our buddy and a lover of Waco restaurants, Brian gave us his list of his all-time top 5 in Waco. So it's like there are five songs on the EP and here to go with them are five Waco restaurants he loves. See how that works?

Here's the list (with Brian's comments):

Schmaltz's Sandwich Shoppe — I've been enjoying the Schmaltz sandwich ever since I was a little kid. I always think of Saturday lunches at my Grandma's house.

The Kitok — Cheeseburger and Oriental fries. Can't go wrong there and the people are great.

The Clay Pot — A unique little red (formerly pink) house. I went to for the first time while at Baylor.

Mi Tequila — My favorite Mexican food in Waco. The green salsa is incredible.

Crave Cafe — This place smokes their burgers and their desserts are ridiculous. Well worth the drive
out to China Spring.

* I have always ordered the same thing at Schmaltz's and at Kitok.
