This restaurant is such a great addition to downtown! I love to meet up with friends for lunch or bring my journal and write with a cup of their yummy coffee at hand. Their soups, salads and pastas always hit the spot and they always have a wide array of tempting treats in their dessert case. Their Mexican Vanilla cupcakes are simply amazing!
With so many options to choose from, you can satisfy all sorts of tastes and appetites. There's plenty of space, which makes for a great meeting spot or a place to work on homework. Everyone I encounter there is always so kind and friendly, too. Definitely one of my favorites!
When I think of the Olive Branch, I immediately imagine a younger Paula Deen with big, blonde Texas hair who magnanimously greets me at the door with a frilly white and blue apron exclaiming, "Hey, y'all wanna cupcake? Extra butter, just for you." Now, the Olive Branch does not serve anything fried or unidentified, but it just has that sort of feel...sort of like "Home and Garden" meets a young Eames. Everything they have is cute. Cute salads. Cute cupcakes. Cute fruit cups. Cute teas. Cute sandwiches...all meshed with a modern edge, clean lines, and, of course, hipster typeface.
Their food is pretty tasty, though perhaps a tad bit overpriced. Great for business lunches or afternoon reading breaks. The kind of folk that go there range from the business brunchers to the nike-short wearin' sorority folk (who arrive mid-afternoon after karaoke at Scruff's the night before, of course). I would definitely recommend it.
This is one of my favorite places for breakfast. The wraps are delicious, and the pancakes are the most beautifully presented I have ever seen. I also enjoy their lunch (although I've never had luck with the pasta dishes).
But by far the best thing about the Olive Branch are their wonderfully decorated, very tempting cupcakes. So heavenly. . .
If you are looking for a nice sandwich place, then look no further than The Olive Branch! I usually get the Turkey BLT but tried the Chicken Salad the other day and it was great. It was my first visit to the new location in the Spice Village. Very laid back atmosphere and cozy. Lots of room so would be good for lunch meetings. Going back soon to try their famous cake balls!
I have a standing meeting at the Olive Branch every Tuesday morning, this never gets old because I can order the same thing every week or change it up and my belly is happy! I love that they make everything in the restaurant, last week I had a bagel that they topped with parmesan, garlic & thyme - delicious!
The coffee is the best in Waco! Especially in one of her super cool to-go mugs you can buy!
Oh and some days I might sneak in a cakeball before noon, totally worth it! Peanut Butter cakeball hits the spot!
