World Bowl rolls out World Cup Cafe truck concept

Ok, bear with me, WacoFork friends. I'm in Mankato, Minnesota, and I won't be back to Waco until mid-August, but I'm going to try to keep the wheels turning.

Speaking of wheels, I've been made aware of a new food truck located behind World Cup Cafe and launched by Mission Waco called World Bowl. It's experimental and somewhat temporary, though the Mission Waco folks have plans to make it more permanent. This week, weather permitting, it will be open Tuesday through Thursday this week from 5-7 p.m. They're not open at lunch so they don't interfere with World Cup Cafe business.

Chef Travis Cheatham emailed me about the experiment. Cheatham transition from The Mix to Mission Waco last year, so he's spearheading the food truck operation. The World Bowl truck is actually The Mix's truck as Mission Waco is trying it out before it buys its own truck.

This one is a check in the column of food-truck variety.

"The concept is chicken and rice bowls with beans and sauces from the three Mission World locations (Mexico City, India, and Haiti)," Cheatham said.  This translates to molĂ©, yellow curry, and a jerk-like sauce."
