Roof-top beverage at Dichotomy anyone?

Imagine sipping a coffee, Irish coffee or cocktail on one of those autumnal evenings right after the hot weather has taken its fall break.

Get ready. It's going to be a reality as Dichotomy prepares to open at 5th Street and Austin Ave.

Dichotomy co-owner Brett Jameson showed me around the construction site on Friday and it's impressive. The structure of the inside is taking shape as the stairs to the roof-top deck is close to the entrance. The bar will go along the left side (when facing in the restaurant away from Austin Ave) of the long narrow room. The space is going to be intimate but still have room for plenty of folks even when downtown is hopping.

Construction crews have told Jameson the building should be ready for Dichotomy to take over near the end of August, meaning Dichotomy is hoping to open in September.

I can't wait to overlook downtown Waco and enjoy a drink with friends. By the way, you can enjoy Dichotomy coffee at its current location in The Croft Art Gallery.

So with that covered, what else do we need downtown?
