This space being cleared for a new restaurant

Over the weekend, the WacoFork wire brought to my attention the Egg and I restaurant going into the Franklin Avenue shopping center currently anchored by Outback Steakhouse and PetSmart.

As luck would have it, I went to the movies and bumped into Randy Robison of Robinson Construction and learned that his outfit, along with building Freebirds, is doing the remodeling of the shopping center space where Egg and I will be located.

What's is Egg and I? Sounds like breakfast, probably, since that is the meal when eggs are most commonly consumed. Yep. That's right.

The Egg and I website has this to say to visitors:

"Welcome to your home away from home. … If you're looking for the perfect place to have a great cup of coffee with friends or a hearty lunch made just the way you want it, our friendly associates will make you feel welcome. So sit down, relax and take some time with the menu. You'll find a number of freshly prepared favorites to keep you satisfied."

Ok, that doesn't specifically say breakfast. But you get the idea.

So Egg and I goes on the coming-to-Waco list with Freebirds, Quaker Steak & Lube, Which Wich and SmashBurger.

There are currently 18 Texas locations of Egg and I, so I'm guessing some of you out there in WacoFork land have been to one of them. So tell me, what's it like?
