If you don't have fun, it's your own fault

There's nothing to do in Waco? Nonsense!

Ok, I admit the absence of football this weekend (I don't count the Pro Bowl) has me a bit anxious about my weekend agenda. But it's not a problem. It's an opportunity for me (and you) to start a new routine. So for my benefit (and yours) here are seven things happening in Waco this weekend.

Love and Theft w/ Andy Velo on Saturday at Common Grounds

There are actually three venues hosting live music on Saturday. If you don't go see one, you're officially not allowed to complain about the lack of live music in our town.

Muddle rolling out Grand Opening Week musical acts

Sloppy Joe tonight and Matt Wilson's piano bar experience on Saturday night. As far as I can tell, this is the only place with live music two nights this weekend.

Baylor hoops vs. Texas

It's a noon-30 tip, perfect for this day: brunch, hoops, Saturday-afternoon fun, socializing on Saturday night. Plus the Bears need your help if you're inclined to give it.

Several of the Oscar best-picture nominees are back in Waco theaters

Everybody's been/gonna be talking about them, so here's your chance to be in the loop.

Waco Downtown Farmer's Market

It will be a cool, crisp morning on Saturday, perfect for coffee and crepes (or a breakfast burrito) and produce shopping.

Go mural hopping

If you identify the portion of mural pictured with this blog and you go to the bar at the most nearby watering hole and tell them "If the whole world's singing your songs and all your paintings have been hung just remember what was yours is everyone's from now on" and something will happen. Do it.

Married With Sea Monsters on Saturday at True Love

This is a band playing at a bar. There will probably be a $5 cover.

Miracle Match Marathon on Sunday all over town

Chances are if you're participating in this, you know the details. if you're not, be advised your Sunday-morning routine could include a detour or two.
