A brand new Dave’s Burger Barn location is set to open between Vitek’s and Cupps at 1707 N I-35 near the intersection of 17th Street and the interstate according to Dave's owner Tim Quiroz.
The new location will serve alcohol, and have a variety of food challenges similar to Dave’s most famous challenge: the “Zipper Ripper.”
If November, however, seems too long of a wait, Williams told me that Dave’s would have a food truck parked out on 5th and Austin, starting in about two weeks. The truck is scheduled to be open from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and it gives foodies another food option when in the downtown area.
For those who are unfamiliar with Dave’s, they have been featured on multiple television outlets, including the Discovery Channel, and have had the Duck Dynasty crew come and attempt the “Zipper Ripper,” a nationally renowned burger challenge that involves eating a five patty burger, layered with bacon, cheese, and vegetables, that’s served with a pound of French fries. Dave's is known worldwide because of this burger, and in order to successfully complete the challenge, it all has to be eaten within 12 minutes and without help.
