Smashburger on its way to town

I promised yesterday to have more information on the new shopping center going up on Valley Mills Drive near the intersection with Lake Air. Thanks to my friend Brad Brown, I'm able to come through on that promise.

Brown, who oversees this area for Smashburger, told me that Smashburger has signed a lease to go into the building that will soon be taking shape.

So that's Mama Fu's and Smashburger along with ALDI grocery that will soon occupy the section of Valley Mills across from Chipotle. Yesterday I guessed that we would see them completed in December or January. Brown calculated the weeks it would take to complete construction plus the weeks it would take to outfit the restaurant and guessed perhaps early December. But we're both just guessing at the moment.

I've heard two responses when mentioning Smashburger. Those who have been there love it and can't wait for it to get here. However, most haven't heard of it yet and want to know more.

My snap description is "wide variety of burgers and they have sweet potato fries."

If you want to know more, take a field trip to Temple and dine at the Smashburger just across Highway 36 from Scott & White Hospital.
