What? You haven't been to Kitok's

What? You haven't been to Kitok's

Part of living in a city like this, that is a medium-sized city with a college in it, is that people filter in and out on a regular basis. So you have a lot of friends who are new to town.

Inevitably, the subject of Kitok's comes up and, if I'm lucky, they've yet to try it. That's when I insist they dine there and I offer to dine with them.

Such was the case today as my friend Wes, who came to town in 2011, was strong-armed by me into a Kitok's trip along with our friends Josh and Tye.

Wes was properly introduced to the Lip Locker and Oriental fries. These are Waco traditions that must be observed.

Sometimes I go off on my Waco sermon, preaching about how this is an ideal place to live. In the long-form version of this sermon, the greatness of Kitok's and other Waco institutions like it are major talking points.

Two more bites: Thanks to Mike Trozzo, who brought me a Wacotown T-shirt. Also, happy birthday, Mike. ... Upon leaving Kitok's today, we noticed the newspaper article from 1979 that was posted on the wall. It proclaimed Kitok's as the fourth Asian restaurant to come to town. Trivia question: what were the other three? (trivia disclaimer: I don't know the answer). Interesting that we now have as many as 25, depending on how you classify these things.
