Poppa Rollo's is open in Hewitt.
It's possible that we're not the first to alert you to this as they've been open for about three weeks now. But with everything going on recently — Memorial Day, the end of school, the beginning of summer, biker shenanigans — it's likely you didn't get around to thinking about it until today either.
Anyway, Rollo's is open in Westrock Center in the location formerly occupied by Cafe Amici. I'm betting if you live in Hewitt the two biggest factors that kept you from going to Poppa Rollo's on Valley Mills more often was distance and the limited availabilty of parking once you got there. Now both problems are solved.
The new Rollo's is open every day but Monday (and they'll be opening on Mondays soon) for lunch and dinner.
The atmosphere is drastically different from the original location, but I'm betting the menu is consistent with what we've come to expect from this Waco staple. I haven't actually dined there yet, but it won't be long and I'll let you know what I find.
They have a small-but-comfortable bar with a couple of early-week drink specials: $3.50 half pitchers on Mondays and Tuesdays and $2 pints on Wednesdays.
