It escaped my attention until today, but there's a new Cane's going up fast in Hewitt.
I was grabbing lunch when I bumped into WacoFork friend Derick Bailey. He informed me the new Cane's, where Burger King used to be on Hewitt Drive, was going up fast.
I drove by and snapped a photo of the sign for verification. I didn't go nosing around the construction site as I've been known to do. We'll have more details at some point on the opening of the new chicken joint. Let us know if you're geeked out about this and we might get details sooner rather than later.
New Starbucks
My inside sources tell me the new Starbucks at I-35 and Valley Mills, in the Gander Mtn shopping center, will go live a week from tomorrow.
One more bite: I was doing some DIY around the house Saturday evening when I ran into the Duty brothers at Lowe's. They were hard at work on the new Poppa Rollo's in Hewitt. I won't reveal the intricate details of our conversation, but I'd say we can look for the new Rollo's well before July 4th.
