We've been wondering what was taking Rusty Taco so long to open and now we know. There's not going to be a Rusty Taco.
Instead, we will very soon be able to dine at Rowdy Taco. Same location, but different concept and branding. I spoke with general manager Cody Brown today and he gave me to new scoop.
Essentially, the Rusty Taco franchise owners opted to launch their own concept. That meant the Rusty Taco signs that went up a few weeks ago in the Aldi shopping center on Valley Mills will come down and the logo you see with this article will take their places.
Rowdy Taco will offer tacos starting at under $3 and the menu will also include quesadillas, nachos and bowls. Brown, who admitted having a big appetite, said he usually downs three tacos, so that gives you an idea how big they will be. Like Torchy's, Rowdy will sell breakfast tacos all day.
Brown said employee training begins this week and they're hoping to open next week. We will keep you updated on this. Rowdy Taco will offer beer and margaritas soon, but alcoholic beverages won't be available as soon as they open.
One more bite: Sorry for the brief interruption in articles on our site. Can't really explain it, but we hope you had a fun Memorial Day and we will have a steady flow of news the rest of this week. Stay tuned.
