Freddy's is open.
The newest burger chain to come to town cranked up its engine and began serving customers in the Hewitt Drive location on Monday morning. True to form, we dined there immediately.
Of note here, what sets the restaurant apart in my estimation, are the shoestring fries. Not my favorite cut, but I can't deny they're pretty munch-able.
This one caught us a little by surprise that they opened so quickly. Intern Dustin Payne sent me a press release announcing the opening on Sunday. Glad he did because it allowed me to pass along the heads up.
It also entertained me with Mad Men-esque copy like this:
"The Freddy's concept brings to life the America of the late 1940s and 1950s, a post-war era of pride and values focusing on quality family time."
So there you have it. shoestring fries and a happier, more patriotic family.
