Bright light city going to set my soul, going to set my soul on fire.
Well, that's probably a little hyperbolic. But I have been noticing particularly bright lights emanating from the Vegas Welcome Buffet sign at the corner of Waco Drive and Valley Mills, so much so that I assumed we let the opening of Vegas Welcome Buffet slip past us. Not the case, though. Vegas Welcome Buffet opens on Tuesday.
The door was open today, so I let myself inside just in time to sort of awkwardly interrupt a training meeting. I dug around a little (a very little) for some more opening info, but only received simple confirmation that they're opening tomorrow.
However, I can tell you they have a fancy entryway that is reminiscent of something in Las Vegas.
Other that that, I can tell you it's going to be Asian cuisine specializing in sushi, seafood and all that implies. First one to review it receives an atta boy or an atta girl, whichever applies.
Another Chick-fil-A otw
The Waco Tribune-Herald reported on Sunday that Chick-fil-A was set to close on property on Monday at Interstate 35 and 7th Street.
There's a lot to choose from for second-paragraph material on this news item. But I'm not going to BS you for the sake of BS. If you frequent Chick-fil-A on Franklin or if you've ever opted to walk into the mall instead of going to the Franklin Chick-fil-A anytime around noon, then you know the score here.
It's a much-needed development.
No word yet on when construction will begin, but you know where to look for updates (here or the Trib).
In-N-Out follow up
We passed along the Trib's story about the new development on Valley Mills that will allegedly include an In-N-Out Burger.
We included a link to this sketch of the development in our story as did the Trib in Mike Copeland's Sunday column. At one time, the sketch included In-N-Out and Del Taco. The sketch has been changed to only include In-N-Out. This is a good sign.
