Jake's unleashes breakfast menu

Jake’s Texas Tea House is opening for breakfast starting Tuesday and, courtesy of Jake himself, we're the first to have access to the breakfast menu.

Jake’s will be serving breakfast from 7:30-10:30 Tuesday through Friday mornings and 8-11 on Saturday mornings. This is a significant schedule shift as Jake's is now only open for dinner on Friday nights.

Here are the new Jake’s breakfast items that have our attention:

Angel Food French Toast

Angel food cake slices dipped in almond scented egg mix, dusted with cinnamon and powdered sugar, and garnished with fresh slices of banana and whipped cream. This unique selection is only served on Saturdays.

Breakfast Banana Split

A whole banana and a serving of low fat yogurt that is topped with a fresh selection of mixed berries and granola. This dish is garnished with a pineapple slice and does a great job at complementing Jake’s local diner feel. It’s also served with a delicious muffin that brings the total of this breakfast to less than six bucks.

Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs

A staple on any great country breakfast menu: Jake’s chicken fried steak and eggs is a healthy serving of fried steak topped with cream gravy and served with two eggs and an additional side. Also, for a small surplus, Jake’s will even top that steak with a delectable sausage gravy.

Big Breakfast

Three eggs, choice of bacon, sausage or ham, served with two regular sides. Jake’s offers this big breakfast during the week, and it is sure to satisfy that all-American breakfast craving that Wacoans hold in their stomachs on a day-to-day basis.

Corned Beef Hash Tacos

Another Saturday-only item, Jake’s corned beef hash tacos comprise of three corn tortillas stuffed with corned beef, breakfast potatoes, sautéed onions, red bell peppers and poblano peppers that are served with a salsa that Jake’s prepares in house. These tacos are sure to curb any Tex-Mex foodies’ breakfast desires.

There is so much originality in this breakfast menu that I cannot contain it all within this blog post; so go and check it out in person.
