The minute I walked into The Boundain Shack, I wished I was going to dine there and not just collect the restaurant's address and phone number for a listing.
It was about 11 this morning and I already had a lunch planned with a friend that was not going to take place in deep Robinson. Also, I ate brisket and delicious potato salad for dinner on Tuesday night at Coach's in McGregor, so I still felt as if a salad for lunch was in order at noon on Wednesday.
But I'll soon feel like a skinnier person who has earned the right to eat Cajun food and will be back to The Boudain Shack.
Here's the skinny on this place. I learned about it late last week from a friend at the office (i.e., Starbucks). It's been open a little more than a week. It might be the most authentic Cajun in town. That's not verified. But since authentic Cajun is scarce around here, that wouldn't be too difficult.
It's located past pretty much everything in Robinson on Robinson Drive or Highway 77, whatever that's called. But they have a nice building and it's well decorated.
The menu includes smoked boudain links, crawfish balls, stuffed crab, gumbo, etouffee, red beans and rice, etc. Pretty much all that Cajun implies.
I'm checking it out soon, but feel free to review it ahead of me.
