So much for breezing through the middle of July, waiting for the hot summer to go by and keeping a low profile. There are new things happening on the Waco restaurant scene almost daily, so there's work to be done.
In the last three weeks we've had no fewer than seven news items to report, including new restaurants in Outlaw BBQ and Fuzzy's Taco Shop, In-N-Out getting a step closer to Waco and Mama Fu's opening its doors. There's more today as the WacoFork wire alerted us to Nizza Pizza preparing to open a Waco location.
The Nizza Pizza website states that the New York-style pizza joint is coming to 5th and Bagby.
A little more digging around the Nizza site reveals that the chain has locations in Weatherford and Granbury. And the restaurant logo also promotes pasta and subs.
I'll have more on this in the near future.
Common Grounds fillin up the fall
Look for it to be a busy fall on the Common Grounds stage as the live music venue gains credibility in the indie pop rock realm.
The schedule currently includes David Ramirez with O, Loveland on September 5, Green River Ordinance on September 13 and Johnny Stimson and Trannie Stevens on October 25.
But get this, we have it on the down low that the fall schedule will also include appearances by Seryn, Air Review, Little Chief and Phil Wickham.
This is too big to fight over
Waco Tribune-Herald reporter J.B. Smith is better at following this sort of stuff than me, so I'm just going to tell you to go to the Trib and read this article about the Brazos Riverfront project. Exciting stuff.
