Ready for another exciting development in the new-restaurants-coming-to-Waco category?
We heard via the WacoFork wire recently that Fuzzy's Taco Shop had posted a job listing for a Waco store. We looked into it and received confirmation this week that Fuzzy's is coming.
"The best I can tell you today is that Waco is on a development agreement and we are coming," Fuzzy's VP Paul Rickels told me in an email. "I just can’t tell you when at this point. It will be sooner than later."
From its original store on Berry Street in Fort Worth (a location I frequented when I lived there in the early 2000s), Fuzzy's has busted out all over the map. There's a couple in Austin, including one on Guadalupe just across from the Texas campus. There are a couple in Lubbock, one in Abilene and they're all over Dallas-Fort Worth.
Pretty soon, apparently, they'll be here. This is a pretty interesting development in the taco arms race around here. Taco week, which we declared in the spring, will look very different a year from now.
