It's looking like we'll have SmashBurger open right around the middle of August.
SmashBurger's Brad Brown told me this week that they're looking at about four weeks until they start outfitting their space, though they're still in that stage where they're waiting on outside factors, so they can't name a specific date yet.
Mark us down as "can't wait." In the meantime, check out the SmashBurger menu here and pay particular attention to the add ons. Put me down for a Colorado, minus the lettuce and tomato but add on a fried egg.
In an interesting twist, the McDonald's right across the street from the SmashBurger location was recently demolished to make way for a new McDonald's building. But I'm telling you that McDonald's does not make a better burger than Smash.
Ice, ice, baby
Our Twitter friend @heathercmc asked last week about the little building going in at the corner of New Road and Bosque, near the Bush's Chicken. It took me a week, but I finally checked it out today and found it to be fancy ice vending machine.
So no snow cones or tacos. Womp, womp.
But if you need ice and don't want to mess with it at the grocery or convenience store, or if you're picking up Bush's Chicken anyway, it's right there.
Time to weigh-in
Last week I discovered "Weigh-in Wednesday" at U-Swirl. If you guess the weight of your froyo, you get it for free. I had Oreo-peanut butter froyo with strawberries and Kit Kat and pecans and guessed 3.6 ounces. I missed by a tenth of an ounce. So I'm going back today for the same exact thing and Ima get it fo free.
