Common Grounds grows a little greener

Common Grounds grows a little greener

I'm currently working from Common Grounds for two reasons.

For one thing, I'm unofficially making this "old crotchety guy day" at CG because with Baylor graduation directly in our rear-view mirror and summer school directly ahead, it's the perfect day at Common Grounds for guys like me. That is, guys who like to work in a public space, but want to find that sweet spot where I'm not at my house but also not in a really crowded place. Common Grounds is the right amount of chill today.

The more important reason for working at Common Grounds is that I'm able to highlight the next step in their Green Initiative. CG has introduced the Keep Cup (the one with the CG logo on it in the picture).

By using the Keep Cup, you're not using a paper cup which is good for the environment and good for Common Grounds' overhead (they have to order fewer cups and therefore fewer trees have to be cut down to make cups ... that was over-explaining, wasn't it?).

As if that's not enough motivation, Common Grounds is upping the ante a bit. When you use a Common Grounds Keep Cup, you get a 15-percent discount.

Also shown in the picture is the relatively new cold-drink cup Common Grounds has been using. This year Common Grounds has gone from all Styrofoam cups to paper cups for hot and cold drinks and the Keep Cup.

Green means go.
