Freebirds in Waco is open!
The 25 lucky people who earned free burritos for a year entered the restaurant at 10 this morning. They were all a little ragged from the two-day camp out, but they were too excited to show it very much.
As soon as camper No. 25 went through the line, Freebirds opened up for paying customers so as of this lunch hour, Freebirds is an option. My guess is it's going to be crowded for a while, but don't let that be a deterrent.
One more bite: Freebirds isn't the only restaurant opening this week. Quaker Steak & Lube hosts its VIP party tonight and opens to everyone on Wednesday.
