Today was declared "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day."
I for one have appreciated Chick-fil-A many days before today because I am a sucker for a chicken sandwich and waffle fries. But I don't think today's "appreciation" has anything to do with a No. 1 combo with a Dr Pepper.
Honestly, I was unaware of this event until I attempted to drive through the intersection of New Road and Franklin Ave. The volume of cars attempting to go through the drive thru at Chick-fil-A pushed the line all the way back to New Road, at times blocking the intersection. And since that impeded my progress, I took notice.
Upon further inspection, competing protesters displayed signs that read "Homo-sex is a sin" and "Gay is ok." Everyone in the long line to get into the building seemed adamant about supporting Chick-fil-A's political views. I don't think anyone was there just to get dinner.
WacoFork does not have an official stance on these issues or Chick-fil-A as a political entity.
In fact, I don't have a whole lot more to write about this subject or the massive crowd of people set on dining at Chick-fil-A this evening. Maybe I can finally get a table at BJ's Brewhouse.
