After almost a year of anticipation, BJ's Brewhouse will be opening in Waco on June 11.
I spoke with general manager Dave Lorenat and his associate Joey Bodnar this morning at the BJ's hiring center. They're buzzing as they await what they expect to be a huge opening.
There's good reason to expect such a thing. I've heard nothing but enthusiasm from everyone I've spoken with about this new restaurant coming to town. I personally like the idea of sipping on their Irish red beer while watching a bit of the NBA playoffs in June. That's summertime at its finest, baby.
BJ's will also be hosting a couple of preview nights and I managed to beg my way on to the list. So you, WacoFork friends, will get a special sneak peek just short of opening day.
One more bite: BJ's is hiring at the moment and will be scheduling interviews for the rest of this week. According to their flyer, they're looking for bartenders, dishwashers, hosts, line cooks, prep cooks, servers, service assistance and take out.
