The Margarita & Salsa festival released its entertainment lineup today.
The event, which will be held August 25 at the Extraco Events Center, will feature the country music stylings of Billy Currington, the Randy Rogers Band and the Josh Abbott Band.
I went to the iTunes store to ascertain which of the three musical acts would be considered the headliner, but couldn't really make a distinction. So then I went to the Margarita & Salsa Festival press release.
Currington, it stated, has six No. 1 hits and he was nominated for two Grammy awards in 2010 (male country vocal performance and best country song). I would imagine his song "Pretty Good at Drinkin' Beer" received a nomination immediately upon the reading of the title. If that's not a country song title, I don't know what is. Perhaps "Pretty Good at Drinkin' Beer with My Dog while Forgetting About You" would be the only thing better.
The Randy Rogers Band's latest album shot to the No. 1 most-downloaded country album on iTunes when it was released. He's opened for Willie Nelson and the Eagles, among others.
The Josh Abbott Band scored a Hot Country Songs top 100 spot with the song "She's Like Texas" and they have an album coming out later this year.
I sampled a bit of all of them on iTunes, enough to know they will probably fit in just right for the Margarita & Salsa audience.
The Margarita & Salsa Festival benefits the Arthritis Foundtion and the Scholarship Program of the Heart O' Texas Fair & Rodeo.
