Cafe Homestead continues to elevate its game for its monthly Farm To Table dinners.
I guess when people walk away from dinner saying "That's the best meal I've had in a long time," it comes with a certain amount of pressure to keep topping the last one.
This month, the Cafe Homestead Farm To Table Dinner will be held on April 28 and the cost will be $52 per plate. That's the basics, not the highlights.
These are the highlights: guest chef Cliff Zimmer, a personal chef for former president George W. Bush, will be presenting Chicken Cordon Bleu and Cafe Homestead has opened up two seatings for the event — 5:30 and 7:30 — so twice as many diners will be able to enjoy this unique experience.
I looked at the menu and as usual two things along with the main course grabbed my attention. They will be serving red pepper and tomato soup, which seems like the perfect warm up. And to finish things off, white chocolate and raspberry bread pudding with maple pecan ice cream.
What's a cool new way to say "enough said." I don't know. Enough said.

Trevino's in China Spring is gone, while El Mexicano Grill & Bar in Central Texas Marketplace continues to idle, waiting to open.
There's a surprising number of restaurants in the China Spring area at China Spring Road and Cougar Ridge Parkway, which must point to the number of people moving that direction. They shouldn't worry that they'll have one less dining option, though, as I noticed a new restaurant called Crave Cafe has signage posted along with the promise that they're opening soon.
One more bite: We turned a year old over the weekend. That's not that big of a thing, but let me just say one more time, and not for the last time probably, how much we're enjoying this and especially that so many of you are along for the ride with us.
