Fat Ho Burger is back in business.
It's reopened inside the RZS Food Mart at Waco Drive and Turner Street in East Waco.
The story broke in the Waco Tribune-Herald yesterday. I wish the Trib's website didn't have a pay wall so I could link to the article because reporter Regina Davis did an excellent job with it.
Davis built the story around the theme that Fat Ho owner Lakita Evans is taking more of a low-profile approach in contrast to the huge media blowout that the burger joint with a sassy name brought on last March.
I stopped by Saturday morning for a photo and to find out when they were open. Fat Ho is lunch only.
One more bite: I'm really not sure how to comment on Fat Ho. Many of us witnessed the buzz and long lines it created last spring, but the reviews of the food didn't live up to the hype. If you went to Fat Ho last spring and want to give it another shot, you should plan on getting it to go as I couldn't see that there was anywhere to sit while chomping on a burger, except for possibly the trivia machines (I'm going to assume they were trivia machines and not slot machines) in the corner of the small store.
