Happy June, everybody.
I feel a bit relieved today. Since it's June, it means that it's ok for the weather to be scorching hot. I know this is kind of dubious, but here's what I mean: It's hot. Ok. But it's June so it's supposed to be hot. It's summer and we can get through this together; maybe even have a little fun along the way.
Also, it's Fried-day, so happy Fried-day too. My friend Jon Davis and I consumed chicken fried steak and eggs at Uncle Bubba's Bistro.
And we have a winner in the May reviews contest. Leah Gorham won and chose Diamond Backs.
Now that all of that is properly discussed and mentioned, here's the best lines from May reviews:
The best of the rest:
"I look forward to going there again and would recommend it to friends, I just hope next time the menus aren't just fresh off the printer and stapled together."
"Also, they have the best coffee I've had in Waco, I remember that about breakfast."
"I have to say, the table-service option makes me so much more likely to go back for breakfast/brunch/lunch. Instead of having to wait in line and walk my son past the cupcake display, it's a nice change to just come in and get set up at the table."
This month's examples of why I have a reviewer crush on ninjacoco:
"Another thing to note: there are two doors in the bathroom--you should probably remember to lock both when you go in. (I didn't have an embarrassing moment there, but I can see the potential for "oops" from a mile away there.)"
"The agua de coco (coconut drink) was pure cinnamony win."
"I wish they had pantsed the shrimp before sticking them in broth, but that was my only complaint. (C'mon, guys, it's a soup. I don't like sticking fingers into my soup.)"
