Burger Week: Captain Billy Whizzbang's

I went into lunch on Tuesday … Wait, I'll back up. I went into Tuesday with the best intentions of being healthy.

My plan, as I set out for lunch, involved ordering a double-double at Captain Billy Whizzbang's for photo purposes only. I planned to eat only about half of it. Maybe not even half.

I needed the photo to help promote the fact that Captain Billy's is now open until 8 p.m. on weekdays. In truth, Burger Week itself was partially a set up to promote Captain Billy's new hours.

I suppose, then, the fact that I could not resist eating the entire double-double serves as a testament to the tastiness of the Captain Billy's burger. It's why you should strongly consider having one for dinner tonight.

It helped (or hurt depending on how you see my attempts at "healthy" eating) that I had a nice conversation with my friends Cory and Carly Webb and their son Miles. Their daughter, 6-month-old Sadie, was there too, sitting ladylike in her easy chair. Slowly consuming a double-double during a half-hour-plus chat has to be healthier than scarfing it at home while watching Parks and Recreation on Netflix. Right?

We'll see. I have a workout planned this afternoon and I've stocked up on Crav items for dinner so that I can make myself a healthy evening meal. More on that to follow.

One more bite: We fielded a suggestion on Monday that this could be "unconventional burger week" with an ordinary burger week held separately. It's a good thought, but I already have my burger agenda on the grill, so to speak. Nevertheless, I'm always open to suggestions, especially when it comes to a tasty burger. … "Mmm this is a tasty burger. … Well, if you like burgers give 'em a try sometime. I can't usually get 'em myself because my girlfriend's a vegitarian which pretty much makes me a vegitarian. But I do love the taste of a good burger. Mm-mm-mm. You know what they call a Quarter Pounder with cheese in France?" -- Jules Winnfield (Pulp Fiction). I couldn't resist.
