Remember last summer when we joined with ChipperThings.com to throw a chess tournament? It was fun right? Well I want to give you an update on our friend and ChipperThings proprietor Becky Murphy.
She's in Austin now and she made me a salad for lunch on Saturday. She said she hoped for the salad to be a little more flavorful, but I didn't mind. She has no idea how much I need to mix in an uber-healthy salad every now and then. Or maybe she does.
That's not the point. The point is that she has a book, published by Penguin/Plume, coming out in October and I firmly believe you need to go here and pre-order it.
You might be asking, "What does this have to do with Waco and restaurants?" Well maybe it doesn't have anything to do with restaurants. But realize that living in our town fostered Becky's developing of this idea and then nurtured its execution. So my point is that this isn't just a place you go to get ready to do something or where you go after you've already done something. This is a place that can help you make things happen. Becky told me on Saturday "It's not a dream if you can do it." Take that one to heart.
We're going to have an "I'd Rather Be Short" party here in Waco later in the fall, but don't wait until then to buy your copy. Buy it now and you'll have it ready for Becky to sign.
