[ "How 'bout …" is the logical extension of our tagline "Where you wanna eat?" Because we've all been there when someone says "Where you wanna eat?" and then everyone stands around a little awkwardly until someone cautiously offers up "How 'bout …" and then the name of a restaurant. It's also a way for us to highlight the restaurants that we want to highlight. Here it goes. ]
Clay Pot serves fantastic Vietnamese cuisine, including but not limited to traditional Vietnamese soup (Pho), fried rice, banh mi and an impressive variety of vegetarian options, in an elegant-yet-casual setting. The restaurant in the red-and-yellow building near the Baylor campus has been family owned and operated for 20 years.
It's great for ... a lunch meet up or a chill dinner. It's also great for both adventurous and casual Asian diners.
The kids will dig ... sitting on the floor at the floor tables. I don't know if parents will love this as it's so much easier for the toddlers to get up and wander. Somebody give it a shot and let us know.
Go off the menu for ... Banh mi. Actually, it might be on the lunch menu. I can't remember. Either way, do yourself a favor and chow down on this sandwich (I especially recommend beef). Possibly the best sandwich in town.
Don't leave without trying … dumplings as a starter or, even better, fried dumplings.
WacoFork folks say ... "Clay Pot is awesome. I always get the pho soup or clay pot on the lunch special. Both with tofu. The special also comes with spring rolls and tea. Everything you need for $5.99 is in that quaint (red and yellow) restaurant." -- bex
