We have been fortunate to be able to partner with Communities in Schools of the Heart of Texas in the past, and we are thrilled that they wanted to partner with us again for the WacoFork Club. Communities In Schools of the Heart of Texas (CIS-HOT) is part of the national Communities In Schools network, the nation’s leading dropout prevention organization, serving 1.5 million students every year.
Communities In Schools of the Heart of Texas serves over 3,500 students in 26 schools in 8 school districts: Chilton, Connally, La Vega, Marlin, Mexia, Teague, Waco, and West ISD.
Their mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. By bringing caring professionals and volunteers into the schools to address student’s unmet needs, CIS provides the link between educators and the community. The result: teachers are free to teach, and students — many in jeopardy of dropping out — have the opportunity to focus on learning.
The WacoFork Club is launching tomorrow, launched on August 15!
