For a while, I've been making periphery checks of the former Lake Brazos Steakhouse location, expecting to see signs that the new restaurant taking over would be opening soon.
Turns out, I wasn't seeing enough of the picture.
The new restaurant, we've known for a while, will be a Manny's. Now, I'm not sure on the name because I've heard it referred to as both Manny's Uptown Tex Mex Restaurante, as the restaurant comes from that Dallas-area chain. However, I've also heard another name that signaled its location on the river. We'll effort the details on that.
However, the Waco Tribune-Herald posted an article on Friday that clued me in to what I was missing. The reason Manny's hasn't opened yet is because there's a whole lot of construction underway in the back as the restaurant is building an extensive deck, complete with boat slips. So I went and checked it out today and took my own picture.
I also noticed a separate wooden building adjacent to the existing restaurant building that looked like it could be an outdoor bar. It's going to be interesting the check out all the Manny's bells and whistles when we get a chance to do that.
