I have to say I'm excited about this weekend, mostly because of the potential to enjoy good music in our town.
We ain't Austin, I reckon. But we can still get down on the odd occasion, right? To that end, I'm planning on having my ears in the range of live music both Friday and Saturday night.
My buddies Brian Patterson and Seth Stanford, both semi-regulars at Dancing Bear Pub, will be playing there tonight with their band, Bobby Jealousy. Not sure what time the show is going to start, but it's free so stop by at 8 or so, have a beer and I'm sure that information will be available.
The Common Grounds stage hosts Shane & Shane with opener Phil Wickham tonight. Hope this isn't the first you're hearing of it, because it's sold out. I don't have a ticket, which is just as well since, as stated, my buddies are playing at Dancing Bear.
Then on Saturday night, there's a show that should be in a lot of folks wheelhouse as it's not just live music, but also an opportunity to help out a good cause. Waco Arts Initiative is holding a Christmas benefit concert at Common Grounds beginning at 8 p.m.
The music will be provided by The Gladsome Light, Lomelda and O, Loveland and tickets are $5.
There's also a football game in town and the farmers market and all of that, so enjoy Waco this weekend, friends. See ya on the flip side.
