Last week we told you about the Methodist Children Home's 5K and 1-mile fun run. This week we have another great chance to get out and get some exercise for a good cause.
Communities in Schools will host the Future So Bright 5K Neon Run on the evening of Friday, May 1.
The race will start at 6:30 p.m. at MCC (check-in will be from 5-6). The 5K costs $30 to enter ($35 the day of the race) and the 1-mile run is $20 ($25 on site) and there are discounts for kids ages 5-12 and college students. The registration fee includes a Future So Bright T-shirt, a reusable tote bag, official run time, dinner at the Neon Glow After Party and other neon accessories.
Communities in Schools of the Heart of Texas serves students in 30 area schools from 12 local school districts. It's part of the nation's largest dropout-prevention program. For more information on CIS and/or the Future So Bright Neon Run, go here.
