I wasn't planning on setting the bar high at lunch today, but that's what happened.
I'm in Houston to work tonight before hustling back to Waco tomorrow morning for the Texas Food Truck Showdown. I noticed a place called the Bombay Pizza Company across the street from my hotel, so I decided to Google it and see if I needed to have lunch there.
Yes, I did need to have lunch there. The simple formula of eye-catching menu items plus an 80 or higher on Urbanspoon (it was an 88), told me that.
I ordered a Bombay Ranch pizza which combined chicken, mozzarella and homemade chili-garlic ranch on a thin crust pizza and liberally sprinkled with cilantro. Fantastic! Clearly it was so good that I knew after the first slice that I had to write about it.
Now everything I scarf at the Texas Food Truck Showdown will have to compete with that. Game on!
