I'm psyched to go to the new Hippodrome twice this week.
Because of football, I didn't make any of the first weekend's slate of Hippodrome grand-opening events, so I'm doubling down this week beginning with The Gladsome Light and Joel Sprayberry show on Wednesday night.
I spoke with my good friend Tye Barrett of The Gladsome Light this morning to get some inside info for all my WacoFork friends. Barrett is committed to making it a special night and he's bringing in a bunch of his rhythmically and melodically talented friends to that end. Go here to check out The Gladsome Light music to whet your appetite for this show.
Go here to buy tickets. Doors open at 7.
And then on Thursday, I'm going to get my Katniss Everdeen fix at the Hippodrome's Hunger Games marathon.
In case you're unaware, Mockingjay is going to premiere a day early on Thursday night at Hippodrome. No word yet on whether or not Jennifer Lawrence will be in attendance. I was able to secure tickets on Sunday evening, though I don't know if any remain. Go here to try.
BTW, to get the Thursday night Mockingjay ticket, I think you have to buy a marathon ticket. They will show Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay in succession. I'm uncertain about exact times of the showing or the breaks between movies.
