Hewitt has the bases loaded when it comes to dining choices.
Fast food on first, mid-range casual dining on second, and upscale on third. If your buddy or significant other asks "Where you wanna eat dinner?" you've got at least one choice for every mood.
However, until recently the runner on third consisted of one place and one place only — 135 Prime. Now if you're feeling fancy, but not steakhouse fancy, you have another choice.
My buddy Joben and I dined at The Mix on Wednesday evening. The Mix recently began serving dinner and came on board with us with an enhanced listing. It was for both of those reasons that I scheduled a stop-in there this week.
The plate in the photo with this blog was mine. I ordered the ribeye, which comes with two sides for $17. Excellent value. I chose macaroni-and-cheese and Brussels sprouts. By the way, I am digging Brussels sprouts lately. I am thinking of a European vacation centered on the chance to eat Brussels sprouts and drink Belgian porters.
Joben ordered pork schnitzel with mashed potatoes and asparagus. I meant to try a bite of the schnitzel, but was too enraptured by my ribeye.
We were too full for dessert. But The Mix seems like a fantastic place to drop in just for coffee and dessert. It's well appointed but relaxed. I was honestly trying to take a date there, but struck out, so I took Joben. We had a nice conversation anyway.
The Mix also serves great lunch, but that's been the case for a while. I suspect it's already on quite a few radars in the "Where you wanna eat lunch?" category.
