Roughly once a month, I write about the Cafe Homestead special dinners in this space. Cafe Homestead isn't usually open for dinner, but every now and then (again, roughly once a month) they prepare a menu and open up two seatings.
So I reveal the menu here in an effort to entice our readers to sign up for the dinner. I don't know how effective the practice is, but I hope some of you see those emails and sign up for the dinners.
Anyway, this is not one of those blogs.
This blog is to tell you that this Saturday's Cafe Homestead dinner is completely booked. That's 160 seats sold out, and I'm proud to say I've got four of them. I received an email describing the menu on August 7. I'm not sure when it sold out, but you get the point. You can't hesitate on this deal or you will miss out on it.
Now why would I write about an event that is sold out?
Here's why: those of you who are on the fence about this thing, those of you who wonder if it's worth the price (this month's dinner, for example, is $48), need to understand that plenty of people have decided that it is worth it.
Is it expensive? Yes, relatively speaking. But do yourself a favor and have peanut butter and jelly a few times instead of taking the family to Rosa's, sign up, hire a babysitter and enjoy.
Again, you're SOL this month. But put a post it in your brain and act fast next month. Just in case you want to punish yourself by seeing what you're missing, click here for the menu.
