I barely had time to wonder what might be on the way as construction crews broke ground at the parking lot near Wal-Mart. On Saturday, I heard through the WacoFork wire that it would be a new Peter Piper Pizza.
So during my usual Monday recon rounds, I was able to confirm with Peter Piper general manager Cinthya Perea that it would indeed be their new store.
Perea said the plan is for the new Peter Piper Pizza to open Feb. 13. She said it will not have bumper cars like the current location, but it will include a more adult-friendly (translation: slightly quieter) separate party room.
The new Peter Piper will be on the former site of the New Road Luby's, next door to the Shell gas station and sharing a parking lot with Wal-Mart.
As I walked into the Peter Piper Pizza today, I thought to myself "The last time I went into Peter Piper ... You know what? I don't think I've ever been into a Peter Piper Pizza." So it's difficult to predict how often I'll enjoy the new location.
But I also realized one reason why Peter Piper has chosen an excellent spot to relocate. Kids can be very persuasive and kids also have to be bribed to behave at Wal-Mart. Could it be that some lucky boys and girls will be able to bargain their way to a Peter Piper trip during a Wal-Mart excursion?
And doesn't that work out well for Peter Piper Pizza?
One more bite: I just noticed that no one has ever reviewed Peter Piper. I'm not going to offer a gift card for reviewing it, but I just thought I would mention it.
