Lone Star Tavern's catfish is the perfect Fried-day special

I realize it's a little later in the day than I usually post the Fried-day blog, but here it is nonetheless.

I've written about fried catfish on Fried-day, and I've also written about Lone Star Tavern on Fried-day, but I've never written about Lone Star Tavern's fried catfish on Fried-day.

It's about time, too, since fried catfish is Lone Star Tavern's Friday lunch special.

Today I enjoyed a salad, fried catfish with french fries and a refreshing pitcher of iced tea for less than 10 bucks.

All of Lone Star Tavern's lunch specials hit the spot, especially the chicken fried steak. I challenge anyone to find a better one in town. The same goes for the fried catfish. Lots of fish breaded with cornmeal batter and served with tartar sauce or ranch dressing like I had.

Maybe you have time to go catch your own catfish and fry it up. If that's the case, good for you. If the fish ain't biting, though, head for Lone Star Tavern.
