After a long weekend, it's back to work.
Wait, was it a long weekend? I guess Friday wasn't technically a holiday at all, but it still kind of felt like one. And then it was so nice outside that I'm just assuming that all of you hit Saturday as hard as I did. More on that in a blog later today.
But since it's Monday and I'm assuming everyone had a good weekend, I'm therefore also assuming that everyone needs some incentive to get through this week. Have no fear. I have just the thing — the Cafe Homestead farm to table dinner coming up on Saturday.
I received an email from Cafe Homestead on Friday indicating they had 10 seats still available at the dinners (there will be seatings at 5:30 and 7:30). Then I spoke with them this morning and there are still seats up for grabs. The dinner costs $52 and I propose that you will not find a better way to spend that amount of money this weekend.
Here's what's special about this month's farm to table dinner: Guest chef Cliff Zimmer, a personal chef for former president George W. Bush, will be presenting Chicken Cordon Bleu along with the usual dazzling lineup of side dishes, including but not limited to red pepper and tomato soup, which seems like the perfect warm up and white chocolate and raspberry bread pudding with maple pecan ice cream for dessert.

UPDATE: I received word early this afternoon that there are 25 seats available for 5:30 p.m. seating and 5 remain for 7:30 p.m.
