Something grabbed my attention last week. Something I think has the potential to be both a good bit of fun and a pretty good deal as well.
On Tuesday night, Power 108FM is launching an event called Flavor Fest at the Waco Convention Center. This is the first one and the local radio station has more than 40 restaurants signed up for booths from which they will provide event-goers with samples of food.
Let me put this in the most inviting terms possible: for $10 in advance or $15 at the door, you will be able to sample food from many of Waco's popular restaurants. So that's dinner taken care of then.
There will also be a cash bar and live music from Rewind and The Morticians.
Doors open at 4 p.m. and the information on the Power 108FM website simply says it will last "all night long!"
I wish I could predict the optimal time to attend the event — the time when all the restaurant food samples would be at their tasty best, but the crowd would be light enough for easy access — but I can't. It's the first one.
Anyway, this seems like the kind of thing the WacoFork nation can get behind. Go. I'll be there, wearing a WacoFork T-shirt. If I see you wearing your WacoFork T-shirt, I'll give you a high five and maybe buy you a drink. No promises on that. I will promise this: if you see me there and you don't have a WacoFork T-shirt, I'll remedy that situation.
